Our Story
The Suit Studio began with one stubborn idea — that ethnic wear should feel as good as it looks, and cost what it is honestly worth.
How It Started
We started in 2019 with three tailors, one cutting table and a small room above a fabric shop in Gandhi Nagar. The brief was simple: make the kind of kurta set we kept looking for and never quite finding — soft enough for a full working day, finished well enough for a family function, and priced so that buying two did not feel reckless.
Today that room has grown into a studio of forty-two people, but the way we work has not changed. Every style is sampled on real bodies before it is cut, every fabric is washed before it is stitched, and nothing ships until it has been checked seam by seam.
The Craft
Chikankari from Lucknow. Bandhani tied by hand in Kutch. Block prints pulled in Bagru. We work directly with the clusters that make these crafts, which keeps the money where the skill is and the price where it should be.
Because these are handmade processes, no two pieces are identical. A motif may sit a millimetre off, a dye may pool a shade deeper. We consider that the point, not the flaw.

To make well-made Indian ethnic wear an everyday choice rather than an occasion splurge — by controlling our own production, skipping the middlemen and passing the difference on to the women who wear it.
To become the studio Indian women think of first for a kurta set — known not for the loudest sale, but for pieces that survive the wash, the wear and the wedding season, year after year.
Fair wages paid on time, natural fabrics wherever the design allows, minimal plastic in our packaging, and honest product photography — what you see on the model is what arrives at your door.

A Note From The Founder
"I spent years buying kurtas that looked wonderful on a hanger and lasted two washes. When we started The Suit Studio, the promise I made to myself was that we would never ship something I would not happily wear to work, to a wedding, and then again the following week."
"If a piece ever falls short of that, write to me. We will make it right — that is not a policy, it is the whole reason the studio exists."
